I am a big Neil Young fan. This is akin to the Macca/Dylan pairing. I've got all but maybe two or three of NYs lps/cds. Here is a guy that, despite being
over 60, has never lost that rebel element that seems to be present in most youth. Paul seemed to lose that element, sometime between '75-77. Neil is still
doing metal with the best. He has several lps that were strictly folk/country. He's recently done two lps that were serious protests cds. He's got that
anger/protest in his spirit that seems to inspire great artists. Paul doesn't anymore, at least not in my opinion.
This does become one of the great Rock and Roll moments of all time. It reminds me very much of Thanksgiving night, 1974 at Madison Square Garden when John Lennon upheld his end of a bet with Elton John. He joined Elton onstage and did three songs, "I Saw Her Standing There", "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" and "Whatever Gets You Through The Night". BTW, that date in history is remembered more by football fans who recall what Clint Lonley and the Dallas Cowboys did to the Washington Redskins. (Man, was that really 35 years ago???) |

Actually, if was Longley. He came in to replace Roger Staubach and threw a hail mary for the win.

that's too bad. i was amused at the idea of a football player with the last name lonely.
