The Four Most Obnoxious Words On TV Are... |
Lead | |
|
"...Hi, Billy Mays, here..."! For the longest damned time I have hit the remote control everytime I hear that line. I come home from work this
morning and find his name all over the internet. He's dead!! This guy that did the Sham Wow commercials won't be taking up the slack since he got in a
fight with that hooker and she tried to bite his tongue off. Ron Popeal(SP????) I believe, is dead. So who's going to be the next obnoxious commercial
voice?

actually, billy mays was not the shamwow guy. he did another product (i forget what it was called) that was shamelessly ripped off by shamwow. so maybe the
shamwow guy will become as ubiquitous as billy has been.

I always thought Billy Mays seemed like a Bob Vila impersonator with anger issues.

Don said "actually, billy mays was not the shamwow guy".
Right. I meant that the Shamwow guy would not be the guy to pick up the slack due to the loss of Billy Mays. The Sham Wow guy pretty much blew his career a couple months ago, if you recall, when he got arrested after he and a hooker got into a fight. Apparently, Hookers don't like kissing their 'clients'...especially open mouth. When our Sham Wow guy tried to slip her the tongue she tried to bite it off. He punched her a couple of times and they were both arrested. He had another 'dicer' commercial at the time that had his famous line "...you'll love my nuts...", but he's been pretty much dead in the water since. I don't know if he was at Wisconsin's Bowl game last year. I don't recall seeing him on TV. |

Seems like I remember him talking on the sideline doing his schtick while we were watching at the corner bar....or it might have been the night game we were
watching at Amelia's....
Here we go: In December 2008, Mays began appearing in ads for ESPN's online service, ESPN360. These ads were a slight departure for Mays as they were designed to be parodies of his and other infomercial cliches with Mays appearing to be doing a parody of himself. He also made a live appearance during the 2008 Champs Sports Bowl promoting ESPN's and ABC's January 1, 2009 bowl games. |

BILLY MAYS HERE, FOR AN AMAZING NEW ENERGY POWDER THAT WILL KEEP YOU GOING STRONG ALL DAY LONG...
A mighty shocking autopsy report concludes cocaine contributed to the sudden death of pitchman Billy Mays back in June. The report, which was released today, lists "cocaine use" as a contributing cause of death -- along with hypertensive and arteriosclerotic heart disease. A Hillsborough County press release says "from the presence of metabolites of cocaine and the absence of cocaine itself, it was concluded that Mr. Mays used cocaine in the few days prior to his death but not immediately prior to death." Mays died in his sleep on June 28 at his home in Florida. UPDATE: Official documents show the following drugs were in Mays' system -- hydrocodone (Vicodin), oxycodone (painkiller), alprazolam (Xanax), nordiazepam (Valium), benzoylecgonine (byproduct of cocaine) and temazepam (anti-anxiety). Ethanol -- alcohol -- was also in Mays' system |

Wow. Two types of pain killers as well as valium. The NYTimes claims the family is totally taken aback by the suggestion of cocaine and are calling for an
independent source to do another autopsy. Considering how much it would take to bring about the heart condition he had, he had to have been doing it for quite
a while. However, that list above suggests that he had quite a love for drugs.
